Abstract:
The objective of this report is to provide the Department of Community Affairs and other interested organizations and individuals with insight into trends in the energy-related features of single-family homes being constructed in Florida. The summaries stratify the state into three climatic zones (i.e., south, central, and north) for the purpose of exposing any trends that may be present. Summaries include the following key areas: conditioned floor areas, exterior wall systems, insulation levels, glazing materials, cooling system, heating system, air handler location, domestic water heaters, water heating conservation credits, and HVAC credits, including ceiling dans, cross ventilation, programmable thermostate AC, programmable thermostate HP, multi-zone cooling, and multi-zone heating.
