Abstract:
The author outlines the responses of Jewish communities in various regions of the world to Israel's Yom Kippur war, and asserts that many changes have taken place in Jewish perceptions of Israel, the Arab states, and their own situations worldwide. The author argues that while the problems faced by Jews worldwide are serious, there is no need for despair. The American Jewish community, argues the author, must be a leader in facing these problems.
