Abstract:
The author describes the experience of the Arizona Jewish community with a controversial state program that supported private education (including, in this case, Jewish day school education) with tax credits for private contributions to nonprofit organizations that gave students scholarships. The author outlines the program's implementation, and the challenges the program faced.
