Abstract:
The author describes the procedures used, decisions made and the positive experiences which resulted in a community center summer camp designed to integrate blind and visually impaired children with sighted peers in normal social interaction. While some accomodation, planning and innovation is necessary to serve the blind children fully, the author contends, the total experience of integrated learning and playing with other children has a remarkably positive effect on the visually impaired children.
