Abstract:
To enable the New York Association for New Americans (NYANA) to respond quickly to changes in the size of its client base or type of services required, it is implementing team-based organization. Using this strategy, the agency is moving from a hierarchical structure to a workforce that provides resettlement services through self-directed work teams. This article describes the management of resistance to this new initiative, TBO infrastructure and training, and support systems in this pilot TBO project.
