Abstract:
This paper describes the meeting of the International Scientific Advisory Committee (ISAC) for the 1990 World Jewish Population Surveys, that took place in Jerusalem on December 18-21, 1988. The following issues were discussed:: (1) Core questionnaires, standardized set of questions, definition of variables; (2) Setting up a Technical Advisory subcommittee on Sampling (TASS) as a clearinghouse of information on methodology; (3) Sponsorship and organization of future surveys and the support of the main Jewish leadership; (4) Collection of data; (5) Comparability of data and its standardization; (6) Cost of the surveys.
