Abstract:

Based on the recognition of the vast amount of influence teachers can wield on their students, the role of the teacher has expanded from teaching delimited content sets to the constructive work of 'preparing students for life.' In essence, this is social work, and teaching should be understood as an important part of the social work project, and teachers well prepared for this aspect of their role.
