Abstract:

The author offers six guidelines for substantive dialogue between Jewish conservatives and liberals: (1) abandon moral absolutism; (2) abandon moral relativism; (3) recognize the intellectual integrity of opponents; (4) learn from one another rather than speak past one another; (5) find common ground within the dialogue on issues of Jewish identity and continuity; and (6) beginning to build bridges.
