Abstract:
U.S. dependence on foreign sources of oil is a serious concern. CAFE standards, however, are not an effective method of addressing the problem. CAFE saves a minuscule fraction of U.S. oil consumption at an enormous cost: And policy makers should explore alternative methods for decreasing America's dependence on foreign oil.
